Lucknow: Lucknow residents, especially travel enthusiasts and children, have a reason to celebrate. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has developed Harmony Park in CG City, featuring stunning sculptures made from waste materials, live musical instruments, and a dedicated sports arena. Built on the Waste-to-Art theme, the park was officially inaugurated on Thursday and opened to the public.
Chief Secretary Inaugurates the Park
According to an official statement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh inaugurated Harmony Park at CG City with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set to the tunes of live music. Speaking at the event, he emphasized the park’s significance as a fusion of music, fitness, and art.
“This park is a fine example of the Waste-to-Art concept. It features visually captivating sculptures crafted from scrap materials, interactive musical instruments, and a dedicated sports arena. Visitors can enjoy both music and fitness here,” said the Chief Secretary.
He further noted that Harmony Park is not just a leisure spot but also represents a unique confluence of art, environmental conservation, and sports activities. After the inauguration, he toured the park and praised the LDA’s efforts, stating that it offers a fresh and engaging experience to the city’s residents.
Developed Across 12.90 Acres
Located in CG City (Chunk Ganjaria), behind the Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Harmony Park spans 12.90 acres. The project was developed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) in collaboration with private stakeholders at an estimated cost of ₹11.70 crore.
32 Stunning Sculptures from 70 Tons of Scrap
The Waste-to-Art themed park features 32 exquisite sculptures crafted from 70 tons of discarded materials. These sculptures are designed to represent various musical instruments. In addition, 41 live musical instruments have been installed, enhancing the park’s interactive appeal.
